Checking the Belayer

(checked by both members of the team)

■ Harness is on properly with buckles doubled-back or otherwise secured as dictated by style of the harness.

■ Anchored properly (if anchored belayer is desired or required).

■ Belay device is properly loaded.

■ Carabiners are locked.

■ Rope is properly flaked on the floor and is free of kinks.

Checking the Climber (checked by both members of the team)

■ Harness is on properly with buckles doubled-back or otherwise secured as dictated by style of the harness.

■ Rope passes through necessary points on harness and knot is tied correctly.
